It’s mid-June and we have just passed the Summer Solstice and the longest day of the year.
We may have missed out on the best seasonal weather so far, but there are still plenty of things going on in and around town for businesses! Right now it’s time for everyone to think about new ways to promote their goods or services and ways to meet new business contacts. Affecting every business in the UK, the EU Referendum is also fuelling lively talks throughout our community.
First of all, let’s talk about the ongoing Bournemouth Food and Drinks Festival. Taking place from the 17th to the 26th of June the fantastic annual event has already seen thousands of visitors from far and wide. Aimed at supporting local businesses the event brings on average 46,000 people to Bournemouth Square every day, a number which rises as high as 90,000 per day at weekends. For companies that specialise in culinary delights, the festival is a major platform for showcasing their product or food related businesses. Bringing increased footfall for many businesses within the community, the event also represents a great opportunity to get out there, talk with suppliers, make new business contacts, and network.
The recently opened Dorset Business Awards 2016 will also provide an excellent occasion for businesses to promote themselves. These awards celebrate the achievements of Dorset’s thriving businesses, large or small across the county and across all sectors. At The Boardroom Network, we know that businesses applying for these awards will have the opportunity to benefit from both positive publicity and countywide recognition. This is a great way to enhance your businesses image and connect with existing customers, potential customers, suppliers, partners, and the local business community in general.
At TBN we have some excellent summer events coming up including a delightful Networking Breakfast and Summer BBQ on the 7th July. Taking place at the inspiring and beautiful Italian Villa at Compton Acres, Poole, we will see a huge range of businesses and new attendees.
Congratulations to Matt Annen of Pure Town Planning who took the trophy at the TBN Summer Golf Trophy Tournament played on Bramshaw Golf Club’s Manor Course yesterday.
