Kicking off another month of networking, members arrived at the relaxed and super stylish Bournemouth Hallmark Hotel on the 5th May. We are happy to say that the bright and warm morning heralded yet another productive business breakfast.
Providing a perfect environment for our networking needs, the function suite was filled with friendly local business people, eager to chat and make new connections. Topics under discussion included the US Presidential race. With Donald Trump, the sole candidate for the republican nomination, members discussed the implications of a Trump presidency on the world economy.
Concluding another delicious Hallmark breakfast, we began our winning TBN formula of roundtable discussions, introductions, and informal conversations. This was followed by a host of excellent speakers, including Aaron Whiffin, the Business Development Director of Webbed Feet UK. With the average person spending 3 seconds on a website before they either like it or leave it, Aaron encouraged businesses to remember the power of a well-designed website!
We were also happy to have the talented photographer, Louise Jolly, introduce her business. She explained the importance of profile pictures and what they tell the world. Exclaiming “you are all beautiful,” she let everyone know, that in her experience, being photogenic is simply a matter of being comfortable in front of the camera.
Always eager to celebrate success at the TBN, loyal member Darren Northeast, Director of Darren Northeast PR was delighted to announce the company’s double award shortlisting. They are now in the finals of two awards at the PRCA Dare Awards, covering the entire South West and Wales.
New members Tim Bennett (Director) and Bill Ball (Corporate Eyecare Advisor) from Specsavers delivered Premium Club vouchers offering not only useful advice on eye care but also special rates for TBN members for Corporate and Driver Eyecare schemes.
We were also pleased to announce that Jay Ratchett, our resident host, won the regular bottle of champagne for inviting the most amount of new members this month – which resulted in an interesting moment when it came to presenting the champagne to himself for the photos!
Jacqui Frampton, the Founder and Director of TBN, also delivered some great news in regards to upcoming TBN activity and special events. Plans will go ahead for our annual TBN summer BBQ Breakfast to be held at the delightful Italian Villa which provides an excellent opportunity to not only network but also enjoy the sunshine (hopefully!) . Jacqui also confirmed the date of the highly anticipated TBN Summer Solstice Golf Trophy to be held on Wednesday 22nd June and will be played on the beautiful Manor Course at Bramshaw Golf Club.
Our next event will be TBN Solent, which after a successful launch will hold it’ s first full meeting on Friday 20th May at the luxury Solent Hotel and Spa in Fareham. We look forward to seeing new businesses and members from across the region attend.
If we don’t see you there, we do hope you can join us at the next TBN Bournemouth on the 2nd of June.
Until next time, thanks for joining us!
