The darker mornings certainly didn’t put people off attending The Boardroom Network October meeting at the Hallmark Hotel.
We were also delighted to welcome 25 guests this month to enjoy our dynamic and effective networking opportunities.
Liz Gordon from Brilliant Fish PR & Marketing, our first speaker, talked to us about storytelling, aka content marketing. She explained how every business with clients or customers have stories about the reasons they work together that can be used on their website, social media and other marketing material such as video testimonials.
A writing protocol – Show, don’t Tell – applies to marketing really well. By using stories, a business can effectively demonstrate how it works, its ethos and how it treats its customers.
Our second speaker, Colin Bielckus of Avenue Business Services promoted The Business Network Cruise! To set sail from Southampton on the Ventura 3rd – 5th December with Networking “giants” on board like Stefan Thomas and Ian Dickson there is no doubt it would be a valuable and enjoyable experience.
Working with venues such as Blenheim Palace, the Gherkin and the London Transport Museum has given Ian Skinner of The Diverse Cleaning Company South specialist knowledge of the compliance requirements for cleaning commercial kitchens. He is looking to get to know local businesses in the South West to share this knowledge and to offer peace of mind to anyone requiring industrial cleaning services.
As ever, we were kept to time by the local, national and international MC, Jay Ratchet, who had time to remind members that the next meeting will be on Thursday 3rd November.
In addition, our White Christmas Lunch will take place at one of our favourite locations, The Italian Villa at Compton Acres, on Wednesday 14th December from 12pm. Just £35 per person to include a welcome drink on arrival and a 3 course gourmet lunch. For more details and to book, visit www.theboardroomnetwork.com/white-xmas
