As we draw to the end of August, we can look back over another highly successful month of business networking. Recently, we welcomed a whole plethora of members, from across Dorset and Hampshire, at our TBN Solent Breakfast Club held in the gorgeous Solent Hotel and Spa in Fareham. Filled with vibrant conversation, plus a warm and welcoming atmosphere, plenty of future business opportunities have been nurtured. We also had an excellent array of local business people share some exciting news and advice.
Firstly, we welcomed back Becky Craig an expert Life and Retirement Coach. Becky is the Founder of Blu Lake, a Personal Development Company based in Dorset. She spoke passionately about changing our collective attitudes towards ageing and retirement. Highlighting a recent Allure Magazine article against the use of the phrase ‘anti-ageing’ in the media, Becky suggests looking positively at getting older. She asked members to look at what they have gained from the ageing process, whether it be skills, experiences or wisdom. She also advised members to look more at what’s yet to come and that it’s never too late to create new opportunities for ourselves as we age.
Secondly, we heard from Trisha Lewis, an expert Communication Coach and Speaker. Using CAMRA, a campaign to bring back quality real ale, as a comparison, Trisha advised us all to get rid of ‘froth,’ the badly manufactured and the toxic stuff from our conversations. By doing this, Trisha believes we can all communicate with confidence and clarity in our daily lives to create trust, influence and, all importantly, new business clients.
Towards the end our event, we heard from Darren Northeast, owner of Darren Northeast PR, a dedicated public relations and marketing company based in Dorset. Darren announced the launch of his new Award Writing Service, which seeks to help companies gain the official recognition they deserve. Darren also discussed the value of awards as a means to make your business stand out from competitors and let the world know you’re the best. He also spoke about the success his team has had writing applications for regional, national and international awards on behalf of clients from a whole range of different industries.
Our next event, the TBN Bournemouth Business Club, will take place on 7th September 2017. We will once again be gathering at the Bournemouth Hallmark Hotel West Cliff between 7:00 am – 9:00 am.
A not to be missed networking event, in one of our favourite locations, make sure you book your tickets for this popular event as soon as possible!
