The Boardroom Network (Bournemouth Business Club) is 3 years old!

TBN Bournemouth celebrated its 3rd anniversary last week at our original venue: The Hallmark Hotel. It was an opportunity to reflect on the developments since our launch event.

We are still perhaps considered as the “New Kids on The Block” compared with some of the longer established franchises but we have held fast to our initial beliefs. Our focus:

  • To encourage local Business Owners, Decision Makers, Professionals and Senior Managers to meet and connect in a well-structured and organised environment.
  • To ensure within that structure there is a warm and welcoming environment to encourage conversations and connections between our members and visitors.
  • To be consistent in planning our events and ensuring a strong flow of Visitors and to listen to the requirements of our members. To this end we shall be circulating a short survey at the end of the year and would be grateful for your feedback.

In April 2016, we launched TBN Solent, although it is early days, this group is already developing strongly and we are hopeful will double its founder membership by this time next year. Membership at TBN covers access to both these groups. We are now currently seeking a suitable venue in Wiltshire so watch this space!

We are delighted to report that at the 36th meeting of TBN Bournemouth, despite the onset of the cold and dark winter mornings, we welcomed 80+ attendees which included several new and returning visitors. There was high energy and an excellent dynamic in the room; controlled as efficiently and effectively as ever by Jay Rachet our resident MC.

Breakfast was followed by Round 1 introductions and conversation ably managed by our Table Ambassadors. The first of our short presentations was from Lawrence Francis, an engaging and charismatic Holistic Lifestyle Coach, who told us he is a product of his programme: “Hardwiring a Healthier Lifestyle”.

Jamie Forster, from Motley, then presented a clear and comprehensive overview on how to ensure we make the most of our web presence: i.e. our branding; our message the value of quality SEO; and the need to understand and keep up to date with the Search Engines policies. Jamie offers a “no-nonsense” appraisal of your current website and/or company image.

Table Swaps and new introductions followed, along with a top up of coffee, before our third and final presentation from our resident Artist – Sally Mackness. Sally had so much to tell us of her progress since joining the membership one year ago, and thanked her fellow members for their support and encouragement. Amongst her many achievements was the amazing and exclusive deal with Graham & Brown (Home Interior Design): to stock and sell her products and paintings; her work for the British Legion Poppy Appeal; and, most recently, a “pop-up” shop selling her products in Christchurch. An amazing & talented woman who deserves every success!

It had been a very full agenda at this month’s TBN Bournemouth meeting, and it was time for MC Jay to close the meeting (on time as always), but not before presenting the winner of the Champagne prize for ‘the most visitors encouraged’, which went to Chris Wilkinson, Xpert HR Solutions.

Please check out our website for our standard meeting dates and special upcoming events. Tickets are selling fast for our annual TBN White Christmas Luncheon event at The Italian Villa on Wednesday 14th December so make sure to book your place as soon as possible!
